Stuck? Most answers are below — and a real person reads every email.
Open Retold, press the big +, say when the story happened, and press the red button. Then just let them talk — pauses, tangents and all. Press stop when the story's done, and Retold will draw it into a little film. The best recordings happen when you hand the phone over and stay quiet.
It happens — the app might mishear a word or draw a sheep where the dog should be. The wobbliness is part of Retold, but if a drawing is upsetting, too private or badly misrepresents the story, open that story and tap report a drawing. Your private report helps us improve it without leaving the app.
Sign in with Apple or email on the storyteller's phone, and your stories go to your private family shelf. Family members can sign in on a supported iPhone or Android phone and watch every story — in the storyteller's real voice — wherever they live.
You can keep up to five stories on the shelf for free. Retold Plus — £39.99 a year or £5.99 a month — lets the family keep unlimited stories on the shelf. Anything you've already made stays yours and stays watchable even if you stop paying.
Subscriptions are handled by the store where you bought Plus. On iPhone, go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Retold. On Android, open Google Play subscriptions. Tap Cancel and you'll keep Plus until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google Play.
Long-press any story on the shelf to delete it — that removes it from our servers too. To delete your whole account and every recording, use Settings → Delete account in the app, or email us and we'll do it within a few days. Details in the privacy policy.
Yes. Retold supports both iPhone and Android, with the same private family shelf and drawn story films.
Email [email protected] with what happened and, if you can, which phone you're using. Replies usually within a day or two — it's a small family-run app, which is rather the point.
